If 10 years ago someone would have told us that Liam Neeson, the Irish character actor who starred in ‘Schindler’s List’, would become one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood, we wouldn’t have believed you. We would have thought Arnold or Stallone would never allow an actor from the UK to take over the box-office, but alas, since 2005 ‘Batman Begins’ Liam Neeson has forcibly taken the crown as action hero king. So before ‘Taken 2’ destroys the box-office, lets take a look at Liam Neeson by the numbers.

$2 billion: is the amount of money Liam Neeson movies have grossed at the box-office (domestic)– $2,117,689,093 to be exact.

1983: was the year Liam Neeson appeared in his first major film ‘Krull’, which was the story of “A prince and a fellowship of companions that set out to rescue his bride from a fortress of alien invaders”- IMDB synopsis. And you thought the plot of ‘The Grey’ was absurd.

$474 million: is the total domestic gross for Neeson’s highest grossing film Star Wars: Phantom Menace, which was released in 1999.

$64 million: is the total gross for the opening weenkend of the Phantom Menace which is also the highest grossing weekend of Neeson’s career.

3,858: is the largest number of theaters a Neeson film was released in, 2005s ‘Batman Begins’.

5: Neeson has been involved in five movie sequels or prequels (Star Wars: Phantom Menace, The Dark Knight Rises, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Wrath of the Titans, and Taken 2).

100: is the percentage of positive reviews for Neeson’s highestet rated film on Rottentomatoes ‘Husband and Wives’.

$80 million: is the estimated budget for ‘Taken 2’, which is more than triple the budget of the original film ($25 million).

$34 million: is the gross ‘Taken 2’ is expected to make during its first weekend of theatrical release.
